Questions, answered

Do I need a referral?

No. Maryland has allowed direct access to physical therapy since 1979 — you can book an evaluation with a Doctor of Physical Therapy without a physician's referral. A few insurance plans still ask for one before reimbursing you, so if you plan to submit a superbill, check with your carrier first.

Is Third Space right for me?+

If you're seeking support to move with confidence, build strength, recover from injury or return to the activities you love, Third Space is here for you. We care for women from young adulthood through menopause and beyond, with a plan shaped around your body, your goals and your life. Not sure? Start with a free consultation.

Do you take insurance?+

We are an out-of-network practice. We provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

What is the free consultation?+

A short, no-pressure conversation about your goals and history so we can tell you whether our care is a good fit.

Why reformer-based rehab?+

The reformer lets us adjust support and resistance precisely, so you can build strength and control safely — from early rehab to return to sport.

Do I need reformer experience?+

Not at all. Every session is one-on-one and guided by a doctor of physical therapy.

How many sessions will I need?+

It depends on what you're recovering from. We re-check your progress at every visit and tell you honestly when you no longer need us — that's why packages are optional, never required.

Do you offer in-home visits?+

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Call or email us to see if in-home care is right for you.

How do I book?+

All bookings go through our secure client portal — pick a time and location and you're set. Prefer a phone call? Dial 609-234-9150 and we'll find a time together.

What should I wear?+

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Socks are recommended for reformer work.

Where are you located?+

We see clients in Ellicott City, MD and Bel Air, MD.
